Twitter Based Live Cam Sites

As the popularity of Twitter continues to grow the services that interact with Twitter continue to grow. The latest trend in services that interact with Twitter are live streaming video. There are a number of sites out there that are flurishing in this space including twitvid, twitcam, and tinychat. The sites doesn’t show video directly on Twitter, but link to the video sites via tweets.

All three sites are tightly integrated with Twitter. In order to login to the sites you use your Twitter account info and not specific login credentials for the site. By doing this it allows the site to automatically tweet all the comments that you leave during the chat. This is a great marketing tool for the cam sites. Most of the times the tweets not only tweet your comments but also add at the site which you are leaving your comments (example: EveLaurence I look like a dork right now LOL (@evelaurence live on http://twitcam.com/gdtg). This is a great social media driven marketing tool which has the potential of bringing in a lot of people at one time due to “word of mouth” tweets.

To actually use the services you only need to follow three simple steps 1) have your webcam connected 2) loign to the site 3) click the broadcast button. Each site has slight variations, but all-in-all they’re all pretty much the same. Just as it’s extremely easy to use Twitter the streaming video sites are just as easy to use. Now I’m not sure what the “nudity” policies are of the site, but hopefully they won’t be harsh. What’s wrong with a little nipple or pantie flash here and there, right!

Live streaming video is nothing new to the web, but what is new is the idea of video interacting directly with Twitter. Just as Twitter is easy and simple to use these video streaming sites are built with the same easy of use. I think over the streaming video sites built to interact with Twitter will continue to grow in popularity and that’s a great thing!
