Just the FAQ

Our FAQ page has long been overdue for a makeover. The FAQ page was good, but it needed a bunch of updates plus a way to add pictures. Thanks to a nifty wordpress plugin we have a new FAQ page up and running. Over the next week we will be updating the FAQ page with the latest and greatest info about the site. This will include more detailed information about how to use the many features of the site, payout information, how to purchase tokens and much more. To enhance the usability of the FAQ we will be adding pictures so you don’t have to guess if that button we say you’re suppose to click is the actual button.

Last but not least there is now a search bar right about the list of FAQ. As the FAQ page continues to grow the ability to search for exactly what you’re looking for will be much easier. You won’t have to sift through FAQ after FAQ looking for the answer you’re seeking.

New sign-up flow coming soon

When I first created mypornprofile.com (MPP) the idea was to only have “real” verified models as the focal point of the site. The only way to do this was by having users photo verify themselves up-front before creating a profile. I didn’t want MPP to be another site with a million Sophie Dee profiles, for example. However, over the past year and a half I noticed many people signing up as models who weren’t really models. Not because they thought they were models, but because of the complex and confusing way we have sign-up setup. When you first hit our sign-up page there are three tabs asking you to decide which path you want to take. Even though we try to clarify up-front what the definition of each path is, we still get many people signing-up under the wrong category. In addition we turn off a lot of would-be models because of the need to present a verification photo upfront. So it got me thinking, how can we make the process easier and faster for everyone.

After much consideration our solution is to let everyone in the front door first and then verify on the back end. Currently we do the opposite, verify in the front before letting anyone in. By providing a fast and easy way to create a profile we allow everyone to partake in the site and then give the option for models and websites to verify themselves. We’re really excited about the new sign-up and are hoping it knocks down the current barriers of entry.

I’ve provided a few screenshots of what the new sign-up process will look like. The current sign-up page will be replaced by modals that will walk new sign-ups through a quick and easy process. You will be able to sign-up and start using the site literally within minutes! The plan is to kick-off development this week. I don’t anticipate development taking more than a week or two. I’ll be sure to let everyone know once the new sign-up/verification process is in place.

Stay Logged In

We’ve now made it so you are always logged in (once you login of course). No longer do you have to login every half hour. This was a major pain in the ass to a lot of you and we couldn’t agree more. There is a lot of functionality available to you after you’ve logged in and we didn’t want those “hidden” options to be hidden just because you weren’t logged in. Enjoy!

Heading down to Miami for XBIZ Summit

In May I’ll be heading down to XBIZ Summit to enjoy the sun and hopefully make some new business connections. If you’re in the business and you’ll be attending the Summit let me know so we can carve out some time to meeting.

That weekend eXXXotica will hold their first of three shows. I really wanted to participate in the show, but due to previous commitments I won’t be able to. I know it was a great show last year and if you’re in the area I strongly suggest you go. There will be plenty of hotties walking around half naked and if you’re lucky you might even see a nipple or two, what more could you ask for! Even though I won’t be at the show I’m working on some details of still having representation without physically being there.

Associations is here – BETA

We’re happy to announce our newest search functionality, Associations. We wanted to give our pic posters the ability to “tag” their photos as well as visitors the ability to search photos based on tags. The traditional route would have been to create a section where you add tags or keywords for each of your pics. What happens with this approach is every pic is tagged with every word for boob for example (tits, melons, boobs, breasts, etc.).  With this approach the search results come up with almost every pic in our system which doesn’t do a lot of good for anyone. We decided to take the Twitter approach and make pics searchable via hashtags. Now when you post a pic with us and use a #hashtag in your picture caption those hashtags will be searchable.

For example take this pic http://mypornprofile.com/profile/photos/3834/56385 which has the caption “my #Superbowl cockdog yummy”. If you click on the hashtag word #Superbowl you will see all pics that have the keyword #Superbowl in the picture caption. It’s a lot better approach then if the user added keywords such as dick, penis, etc.

Using this approach there won’t be a million keywords associated with a pic. Only the relevant keywords associated with the pic will be used in the pic caption. This will allow for much improved real-time search results.

We didn’t stop there, @usernames will now be clickable/searchable also. If a pic caption has the username of the people in the pic those usernames will be clickable. By clicking on the username you can see all other pics on the site where that user is mentioned.

For example take this pic http://mypornprofile.com/profile/photos/859/56351 from Kimora Klein. In the pic caption she writes “Me and @SaraJayXXX chillin’ in bed all day. #boobs“. If you click @SaraJayXXX you will be able to see all the pics where @SaraJayXXX is mentioned. In addition if the @user has a profile with us you will see their profile at the top of the search results page. Oh yeah, in this example you can also click on the words #boobs to see all the pics that mention #boobs.

If that wasn’t good enough we went one step further. If there is a URL in the picture caption, yup you guessed it, you can click on the link. No longer do you have to copy and paste the link into a browser if you want to check out the site. We make it easy for you.

As you can see our new Associations search functionality gives you many options to search from pic to pic and see amazing results. Currently Associations is in beta while we tweak a few things. Throughout the year we will continue to improve Associations and make more areas of the site searchable so you can easily find the content you’re looking for.

What improvements and additions do you want to see?
