Constant Contact Is Anti-Porn
I’ve been using Constant Contact for a few months now to send newsletters and announcements to the members of mypornprofile.com. The emails have been strictly text based, no profanity and no pictures. However today I received an email from Constant Contact telling me my account was being cancelled. Below you can read the email that was sent to me.
I seriously doubt Constant Contact reads all emails being sent. They probably use a filter to see if the emails sent use the word “porn” for example. I most likely was canned because my user name is “mypornprofile”.
The reasons listed in the email for cancelling my account are weak at best in my opinion. There are plenty of email clients out there such as gmail, yahoo, etc. that don’t have such strict policies. It’s a shame when the adult industry is singled out like no other industry in the world. Oh well, I guess that’s life in the biz as they say.
Here is the email…………
Your account, login name: “mypornprofile”, has been cancelled due to non-compliance with the terms of service of your Constant Contact account.
The industry in which your organization operates is not compliant with the content policy outlined in our terms of service. Due to high rates of spam complaints associated with these industries, we are no longer able to take on any new pornographic and/or adult promotions accounts. Please understand that this is not a commentary on your individual business or your list collection practices, it is a decision made solely due to historical experience with your industry.
The marketplace associated with sending e-mail is changing dramatically, and as a result, we have to adapt our content policy to stay in line with these changes. Content of this nature may damage our sending reputation with the email providers that receive our email, which in turn impacts all of our customers.
